2016 Detroit Auto Show Features Buick Avista, Audi h-Tron, and EHang 148

The 2016 Detroit Auto Show opened this week on a very happy note, celebrating the best sales year in 2015 it had ever had.

Even Lamborghini announced that it sold more than 3,000 cars in a single year for the first time ever. By comparison, Henry Ford sold 10,666 Model Ts in their first year of production.

Some of the highlights include the Buick Avista, and Audi introducing its h-Tron vehicle, powered by hydrogen.

At the same time, however, auto industry experts returning from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas are warning of a trio of disruptive forces (drones, connectivity, artificial intelligence) that will shake up the auto industry in the near future.

EHang 184 debuted its flying autopiloted drone, while AeroMobil promised a flying car by 2017.

Perhaps Ford had a view to the future switching its frames to the same material as aircraft-aluminum.
